COLOR: Brilliant red in appearance with youthful purple hues. BOUQUET: Aromas of red currant, mixed spice and vanillin oak. PALATE: Flavors of sweet red berries, earth and spice are prominent in the round, full flavored cabernet style.

Viticultural practices:

Filtration and fining: Cold stabilised at -3°C & coarse earth filtered
Varietal composition: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Merlot
Wood treatment: All ferments received American oak treatment. All components were matured using French & American oak. 15% of the blend received maturation in American & French hogsheads for 12 months.
Winemaker's notes:
Grapes were picked in March 2004. Fruit was crushed/destemmed. Fermentation took place in Vinimatics at 23°C, rotated every 6 hours as well as static 42 tonne fermenters with auto irrigators. |
