Tasting Notes

In view we appreciate ruby colors, intense and brilliant. The nose offers aromas of red and black fruits such as blackberries with spicy notes and hints of coffee and chocolate. The mouth has a sweetish attack, tannins very present that gives the wine elegance with good body and long finish displaying structure. the finish is long and harmonious tannins exhibiting round.

Although this is quite a full-bodied and richly textured Mendoza red it has some healthy dry tannins that support all this very nicely. A wide range of blue, black and some dried red fruits. Drink now.

Very dark, saturated red. Musky aromas of plum, menthol, chocolate and herbs, plus a hint of black olive. Plush, broad, mouthcoating wine with an enticing sweetness to its blackberry and chocolate flavors. Finishes with fairly smooth, round tannins and good length. There’s a subtle coolness to this wine that contributes suavity.

The 2014 La Follie is a multi-grape blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Half of the volume matured in French barriques for some 12 months. It’s balanced and approachable, with nice spiciness, and a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins. 20,000 bottles produced.

Winemaker Notes

Harvest: Manual, in18 Kg plastic bins. Production: Double selection of the grapes, fermentation at 22-24C in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 10-12 days. Extended maceration for approximately 10 days while in contact with the skins; after the fermentation and depending on the taste. Aging: Three months in French oak barrels. Then in bottle for six months in controlled settings until obtains a bouquet typical of the terrain in Vista Flores.
