Tasting
Notes |
|
Vibrant notes of black cherry and a touch of red plum fruit come forth on the nose with a slight touch of spice underneath. The fruit is quite forthcoming and primary and this youthful exuberance transfers right through on the palate, with the juicy flavors running into a blanket of firm acidity that needs a few more months to fully integrate with the fruit. This has all the components to become a delicious bottle of wine with a little more time in the bottle to polish up nicely. Even as it is, it still shows better than most at this price point. If you like Pinot Noir with vibrant and juicy black cherry fruit then this will fit perfectly. |

Wine Spectator, 86pt, Apr 30, 2003
Light and fragrant, with pretty raspberry and cherry flavors on a modest frame, echoing and expanding nicely on the finish. |
Winemaker Notes |
Hand harvested fruit is 100% crushed and destemmed into open top fermentation vats. The fermentations are hand plunged 4 times a day to extract all the colour and flavour from the skins. The wine has an aroma of rich ripe plums and cherries with some toasty oak. The palate is rich and warm with cherries and plum fruits supported by supple fruit tannins, giving the wine structure to support the abundant fruit. |
